New masks by vahki6 New masks by vahki6
Been working on two shapeways projects recently :
A commissioned Hau/Xa hybrid inspired by the 2002 Bohrok promo posters and a more accurate, new version of my Ignika (now ideal for precious metal printings)

Who would have thought the Krana/Hau hybrid would ever become printable? How'd you work out the back?

With pain XD Krana and Kanohi are definitely not made for mixing. During modelling, I gave priority to the Krana mouth peg, since krana's back are specifically designed to fit on a Mata face, so it's the first thing in contact.

I guess you want to make a metal one ? ^^ I would like to see that (I didn't forget I still want a mask from you one day)
Well, I can't guarantee a 2mm thick shell on it, but it's strong. Besides, even 2001 kanohi only have 1mm thick

1mm thick might work alright, it can be printed in metal, right? bronze? how much would that cost?

Metal printing on shapeways can be very expensive indeed :/

Thanks a lot ! But if you want to know, if find it really ugly ^^" Mixing krana and kanohi on picture is one thing, mixing it in 3D is awful. Those two parts aren't made for fusion ^^

Well, to be fair, it's not a pretty image anyway. Like you said, it's not like a Kanohi and a Krana are SUPPOSED to be fused together. XD

this just made me think, what if taking old mask and having it that its able yo connect to new head design, or make a head that accepts new and old heads

I'm already working on old 2001 Kanohi adapted to G2 heads since last christmas, but it kind of hard to do ^^"

Oh, you saw other people trying it too ? I'm that original so XD
Well, the major problem is not adaptating a G2 temporal attach on a G1 mask, if you have accurate models to fuse, the real problem is to fuse them at the right place. sometimes, G2 attach exceed in length behind the mask and G2 face have sometimes a relief that a regular kanohi cannot support. I made some tests on a kakama and I seen that G2 eyes are closer than the G1 ones, so it doesn't fit into the mask eyes...
Well you see, it's not that easy to adapt them, although I will succeed one day, I'm sure of it ^^
